Setup for this compaign is very straightforward. They make a standard Lv. 1 DND character and a story about a day in the life of their character (Not too long unless you want the session to go all night). No two characters have to be related. They can be from different times, different cities, different universes... It doesn't matter. One character can be a prostitute on another planet with 7 different STD's unique to his/her planet and another can be a formal diplomat and be born 100 years after said prostitute is dead. Let the players have fun with it. That is all that is needed from the players to get this session underway.
A small square map (a virtual waiting lobby inside a video game server where combat may occur.)
Have each player read out their story about the day in the life of their character. When all the characters have concluded their days and fallen asleep for the night they all have the same dream. They are in a giant forest, and there is a green fairy like creature in front of them. She says "I am the gaurdian of the forest. I come to you to ask for help. My people are about to create something that will be their own undoing. I need you to help stop them. I have seen the future of my world and there is no more life in it. Please help me save my world."
